Description
Heavy metal toxicity is a common issue in Australia and lots of people are widely affected by this health condition. Heavy metals, such as mercury, lead and aluminium, can accumulate in the body over time and can lead to a number of concerning symptoms and health conditions. Heavy metal toxicity is primarily caused by the levels of pollution and use of chemicals that we are exposed to on a day to day basis.
Saliva metals testing only shows what dental metals were released either before or during the chewing period. By comparing saliva before and after a chewing gum test, it is assumed that the amount of metals released during the chewing period reflect on the stability of the amalgam fillings, and how much mercury and other potentially toxic dental metals are released. For this test it is recommended that a PRE test is performed and a POST test is performed for comparison on metal release in particular mercury.
