Description
URINE ELEMENTS
Spot urine analysis for elements like iodine, bromine, selenium, arsenic, cadmium, lithium and mercury is suitable for use in screening for nutritional status, toxic exposures or metabolic imbalances.
An advantage of spot urine testing for these analytes is that it is convenient and non-invasive whilst being a useful screening tool to identify acute or ongoing exposure to toxic heavy metals. It will reflect what is being excreted in the urine at that moment and can therefore be helpful in monitoring detoxification or chelation treatments.
